Support

Found a bug, or something doesn't work the way you expect? Open an issue on GitHub. Say which macOS version you're on and what you did. If it's about a file, paste its source view (⌘U), with anything private taken out.

Security problems: please report them privately, as described in SECURITY.md.

Questions

Can other apps open my files?
Yes. They're Markdown. Versions, ghosts and Overflow scraps are kept in HTML comments at the end, which other editors hide. A file with none of them is saved as plain Markdown.
Where are my backups?
Preferences → Files → Show in Finder. The app keeps the last 20 versions of each file.
I closed the app without saving.
Open it again. Unsaved changes are kept and come back on launch, even after a crash.
Do I need AI?
No. Everything except ideas, Lab passes and trims works without it, and the app makes no network requests until you set AI up in Preferences → AI.
Which AI services work?
OpenRouter (one-click sign-in), OpenAI with your own key, Ollama or LM Studio on your Mac, and any other OpenAI-compatible server.
Can I change the shortcuts?
Every one. ⌘⇧K lists them and opens the key bindings file; changes apply as you save it.
Is it free?
Yes, and open source under the Apache-2.0 license.
